The sponsored walk will begin at Sussex County Cricket Ground in Hove and follow a route along the South Downs Way all the way to Petworth Park Cricket Club.

The full marathon+ walk is 30.7 miles or participants can join at one of three other points to complete either a 26 mile, 13 mile, or 10K distance, to make the fundraising activity as open and inclusive to all as possible.

The day will end with food and drink at Petworth Park Sports pavilion.

In order to finalise planning we need to know how many walkers intend to participate and who will be joining at each point, so please get in touch ASAP to let us know if you will be participating by emailing fundraising@petworthparkcricket.org with your name and the distance you will be undertaking. Our fundraising team will then be in touch with all relevant information including signing up to PPCC’s funding page.

OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

As well as participating in the walk, you can help in other ways too. Our fundraising team is looking for the following:

Sponsors: Please sponsor - every penny counts!

Volunteers for support crew - to give lifts, assist with supplies at meeting points etc.

Rewards: any local businesses or individuals who are able to provide any products or services as rewards to help boost donations.

Donations of supplies (water and snacks for walkers, plus a well earned tipple at the end!)

Our fundraising team have been busy preparing all the event details including route maps (showing meeting / support points and any facilities on the way). Plus they are looking in to O/S map apps for participants and geo-tracking so supporters can follow along and track walkers. More on this to follow.

THIS EVENT IS FOR EVERYONE!

The PPCC 'South Downs Scramble' sponsored walk fundraising event is open to all club members and supporters, including players, adults & juniors, parents, family, friends, VP’s, club sponsors... everyone is welcome!
