Message from the Chairman:
Dear club members
Our Annual General Meeting is being held on Wednesday 29th October at 7pm at the Pavilion, and I hope you can attend.
The club has gone through an incredible growth spurt in the last 4 years, with 11 teams now being fielded across youth and senior, and a fantastic increase in the number of women and girls playing cricket across both. Alongside this, investment in upgrading the facilities at the ground continues, with the new score box and cover being delivered this year, thanks to your fantastic fundraising efforts.
I have been involved in the reforming of Petworth Park CC from the beginning in 2016, when a few of us had the crazy idea to restart cricket in the park, and my time leading the organisation is soon coming to an end, either this AGM or next. It's healthy to have a rotation of officers to avoid stagnation and to keep new ideas and energy coming in.
In short, the start-up phase of PPCC is well and truly complete, and we now look to the future - would you like to help shape the future of the club?
Can You Play a Part in the Future of PPCC?
To this end, we are looking for fresh new faces to step into roles either at committee (Board) level, or in helping out in working groups. Have you got skills or experience that could help move the club forward? Have you got some time and energy to give to help take PPCC on the next stage of its journey? We'd love to hear from you.
Believe it or not, it's both fun and incredibly rewarding to be part of the decision making team in the club. You'd be coming into a well set-up team, alongside established Board members doing a great job in their areas.
Maybe you're a regular league player, maybe enjoy occasional friendlies, maybe a parent of a child who has caught the cricket bug - we'd love to talk to you!
Please reply to this or contact me at petworthcricket@gmail.com to discuss.
Best regards,
Alex Rees
