Welcome, James Brehaut - Our New Head Coach

We are absolutely delighted to announce that James Brehaut has accepted the role of Club Head Coach at Petworth Park Cricket Club for the 2026 season. This is a hugely exciting appointment for the club, and one that we believe will make a real difference across our junior, women's and senior programmes.

"He shares our belief in inclusive, family-friendly community cricket and player development at every level." — Ian Pinnock, Director of Cricket

A Wealth of Experience
James joins Petworth Park with an impressive and wide-ranging coaching CV spanning school, pathway and club cricket across the UK, New Zealand and Australia. Most recently, James worked with Somerset County Cricket Club as a Pathway Coach, supporting multiple age groups through their development journey - one of the most respected county pathway programmes in the country.

Alongside his Somerset role, James led performance cricket programmes at King's College Taunton, where he was closely involved with nationally successful teams. His experience also extends internationally, including coaching in New Zealand and at Caloundra Cricket Club in Australia, as well as time at Horsham CC here in Sussex.

The Right Blend for Petworth Park
James brings exactly the combination we were looking for: structured pathway coaching, performance development, large festival event management and grassroots participation. He is equally comfortable delivering one-to-one performance sessions as he is running large group development environments - a versatility that will serve our broad and growing membership brilliantly.

Just as importantly, James genuinely believes in the kind of inclusive, family-friendly cricket culture that defines Petworth Park. He'll be getting stuck in from mid-April, leading our junior programme, supporting women's cricket development, and delivering senior training right through the season.

"Can't wait to get started - exciting times ahead." — James Brehaut, Head Coach

We'd like to warmly welcome James to the Petworth Park family. Full details about pre-season sessions and programme structure will follow shortly - watch this space.
