PPCC Launches First All-Girls Hard Ball Team Under New Head Coach!

Jennifer Thorpe8 May - 06:48

An exciting new chapter in our junior cricket programme...

We are proud to announce the launch of our first ever all-girls hard ball team!

This season, we are fielding a Girls U13 Hard Ball side in The Newbery Sussex Junior Cricket League - marking a major milestone in our club’s five-year strategy to grow and support women’s and girls’ cricket.

Leading this fantastic new venture is our new Head Coach of Junior Cricket, Kirah Ambroziak, whose energy, expertise and passion for inclusive cricket development is already making a big impact at the club. Kirah brings a wealth of experience from coaching with Hampshire County Cricket (Girls Pathway), Dorset Cricket Board, and the Hong Kong Cricket Club, along with performance analysis roles with top regional sides including Southern Vipers and Northern Diamonds. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in fun, confidence-building, and player-led learning - values that will underpin our dedicated girls hard ball training sessions.

This is a huge step in delivering our 5-year Women’s & Girls Strategy - and we can’t wait to see our girls in action!

Training starts Friday 9th May 2025 at 6.30pm, and we warmly welcome all girls in the U13 age group - as well as younger players keen to progress and develop their hard ball skills in a supportive, team-first environment.

This is a landmark moment for PPCC, and we are thrilled to see the first ever all-girls team take to the field in league competition. With a fantastic coaching team led by Kirah and overseen by the Club’s Director of Cricket, Ian Pinnock, we’re building not only a team, but a pathway for girls in our community to grow, compete, and thrive in the game we love.
